Whether you are 20, 46 or 80, teeth whitening kits can help you to attain your dreams of a whiter smile as long as you use them correctly.
The only time our teeth whitening gel will not work is if you have got false teeth. Dentures, crowns and veneers are all unaffected by the carbamide peroxide in our teeth whitening gel, so if you have got these it is important that you do the following:
• Get your dentist to professionally clean your false teeth - this will remove any stains and allow you to base your teeth shade on them.
• Use a shade scale – your veneers/caps should have been based on the colour of your teeth at the time they were put on, so use a shade scale to see how much your teeth have changed.
• Apply our teeth whitening gel using the proper instructions and keep applying until you reach your desired shade.
But what if my teeth were dark before the veneers were applied?
First you can replace them with new veneers/caps at shade you prefer (this will then allow you to whiten your teeth to this shade). Or if your caps/veneers are not visible when you smile, you can simply whiten your teeth to a shade of your choice.
What if one of my teeth has died?
Similar to caps/dentures, if a root canal or damaged nerve has left you with a dead tooth, then unfortunately our teeth whitening gel will have no impact when it enters into the pores of your teeth.
However, it is still possible to get this tooth whitened…
Dentists are able to whiten your teeth from the inside by administering the gel directly into your tooth; however we do advise that you approach this technique with caution as the carbamide peroxide may irritate your gums.
So anyone can whiten their teeth?
With the right product: yes!
Simply make sure that the concentration of the gel is safe (should be between 10%-16%) and ensure that you follow the instructions to the letter.
Apply for 30 minutes every day, and in 2 weeks you can successfully whiten your teeth by up to 11 shades.
